Massage Therapy

With 3 years of college education, focusing on the body and all the muscles, I am highly trained in how to assess and treat a wide range of soft tissue chronic and acute injuries/conditions.

Mike is a graduate of the Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) program at Kootenay Columbia College of Integrated Health Sciences (KCCIHS) in Nelson. His approach is centered on achieving long-term results through effective treatments, paired with personalized guidance for therapeutic homecare.

Mike utilizes a variety of advanced techniques, including myofascial release, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), trigger point therapy, and targeted pressure on areas of tension. His goal is to identify and address the root cause of discomfort through a comprehensive assessment, fostering improved symmetry and mobility.

He creates a safe and collaborative space for clients, empowering them to be active participants in their treatment plan. Mike is experienced in treating a wide range of conditions, such as whiplash, tendonitis, strains, sprains, headaches, TMJ dysfunction, and joint pain, among others.

With a calm, strong, and intuitive touch, Mike tailors his approach to each individual, considering their pain tolerance and specific therapeutic goals. He is committed to ongoing professional development and plans to pursue further education in joint mobilizations and neuropathic treatments to enhance his practice

Hi! My name is Jamara Joyal, a BC Registered Massage Therapist.

As a BC RMT, I treat muscle and soft tissue injuries using specific techniques to help heal and relieve pain caused by sports injuries, whiplash, over use (work) injuries, tendinitis, muscle sprains and tension headaches. Prenatal massage is great for lower back pain, headaches and shoulder tension, which is common as the expecting mother’s body changes. Giving back to the community through donations to local charities, helping patients heal from injury and encouraging patients to live a healthy life are important values to me. I love being a Massage Therapist, every day is so different and fulfilling. After graduating from the 3 year program at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in 2009, I moved to Merritt to open Jamara Joyal Massage Therapy. In November 2018, I moved my business to a home based practice which has been a really positive move for me. Being from a small town, I love the small town qualities Merritt has to offer. I enjoy being outdoors doing activities like camping and 4x4ing. Its great being able to take your dog for a hike without driving anywhere.

I have a cat and a dog. My dog is a Mastiff (giant breed) and her name is Nyx. She will often greet you at the door when you come for your massage appointment, then promptly go to sleep somewhere in the house.
